Edward Randell is a singer and songwriter from south London. With a warm blanket of a voice, slyly sparkling lyrics and melodies that evoke instant nostalgia, his Lambeth-meets-Laurel Canyon sound will appeal to lovers of Nick Drake, James Taylor and The Divine Comedy.
Edward has released two solo EPs – his 2020 debut Mapmaker followed by the self-produced Almanack – and his music has been played on BBC 6Music and Radio Devon. He is currently working on his full-length debut with producer Chris Hyson (Snowpoet).
“I just think that’s a near-perfect song” – BBC Radio Devon on ‘Cold Snap’
Over the decade he spent touring the world with legendary vocal group The Swingles, Edward’s songs and arrangements featured in genre-spanning collaborations with Kurt Elling, The Ayoub Sisters and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, and in the Hollywood film Downsizing.
“The song bounces along lightly, like a springer spaniel let loose in sunlit woods, playful and bright... A real catchy number, this will definitely be in my head next time I get a whiff of that pungent little plant!”
– Fresh On The Net on ‘Wild Garlic’
Edward is passionate about helping songwriters to ‘beat the blank page’ and realise their creative goals. In addition to co-writes and production work for other artists, he has led songwriting workshops at vocal festivals around the world, and also offers online workshops and private coaching.
